"Lacada" is derived from Liach Fada. It means 'the longstone' and refers to a low, mean, rocky outcrop about 300 yards east of the world famous Giant's Causeway.

Started up around 1995 on the family farm in Kilkeel, County Down, they supply the majority of cask beers in the province. Very little (at present) on the UK distribution market. BREW PUBS

Belfast had its first brewpub!

First mooted way back in 1990 by a co-owner of the old Linenhall Bar, and to be in Franklin Street, but never followed through. Then a couple of rumours in later years but all pipe dreams.

The Brewbot ! started on the Ormeau Road, Belfast, but did not last long. The parent company of Brewbot appears, from newspaper articles, to be closing. Galway Bay Brewery stepped in and took the place over.
